Imperial War Museum Duxford
Today we have visited Duxford, to find our more about our World War 2 topic and also to enjoy some of our 100 memorable events: we have learnt from an older person and we have explored a plane- even two planes! For some children this was their first ever time on an aeroplane- very special...
We hope you enjoy some of our photos of the day.

Barn Owls visit London!
An early start didn't affect the excitement of our children today 11th March 2019...we had the most fantastic visit to London!
It all started at the Houses of Parliament...
Then we walked down Whitehall, past the Cenotaph and other war memorials, to Downing Street and Horseguard's Parade. At the end of Whitehall, we went under Admiralty Arch and walked a little way down The Mall, so that we could see Buckingham Palace. After than, we came back to Trafalgar Square, where we ate our lunch, as we surveyed Nelson's Column, the lions and the fountains, along with watching all the people there- in the sun!

After our lunch we went to the National Gallery to see some world-famous paintings- magical- before looking back down Whitehall from the steps of this amazing gallery, to see all the way back to Big Ben and the Palace of Westminster, where our day had befun. Definitely three of our 100 memorable events...

The Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge
We have had a busy day, visiting this amazing museum.
First there were some world class art pieces to enjoy, talk about and draw.
Then we spent some time looking at real Ancient Greek and Ancient Egyptian artefacts. One of the teachers at the museum helped us to understand what some of the Ancient Greek items told us about life in Ancient Greece and their beliefs and stories. The children were spellbound by the myth of Persephone.
Finally we were able to look around the Ancient .Egyptian artefacts. We could see how they lived from some of their models and we even saw some mummified animals from Ancient Egypt!
