Monday November 3rd 2014: Beowulf

This week we are learning about another legend: Beowulf.

First of all the children wrote down facts they could see from illustrated versions of the legend.

Mrs Andrew read from the Usborne retelling...

We learnt that Beowulf came from Denmark and had a look to see where Denmark was in relation to Britain.

We had a look at a copy of the original manuscript.

Mrs Andrew then read a description of Grendel from Michael Morpurgo's version of Beowulf...

Tomorrow we'll be writing about the legend in our literacy books.
