Wednesday July 16th 2014: story writing

This morning we looked at a prompt for story writing, a film about a chimpanzee that was sent into space 65 years ago and returned to find the planet lifeless and another called 'French Roast' about a man who spends the day in a cafe drinking coffee because he has no money to pay the bill and sees people behaving in a very unexpected way (see 'the literacy shed' for more ideas).

Both settings were realistic and the stories had a twist at the end. Mrs Andrew asked the class to write a creative story in an imagined setting.
