Merry Christmas from Barn Owls!

Merry Christmas from Barn Owls class! We have gotten up to lots of exciting activities to celebrate. You can watch our recital of 'Twas the Night Before Christmas' below. The children worked hard on their reading and use of expression. There are also photos from a day when there was snow and we went outside to play, as part of our 100 memorable moments. There are also lots of smiley photos of us on the last day, playing games and watching our special Christmas Assembly in our Christmas jumpers!

Our amazing robot project!

In Barn Owls class we have been reading 'The Wild Robot,' by Peter Brown. Inspired by the book, we decided to design, make and evaluate our own robots! The children worked so hard to make them unique. I think they look fantastic!

Kennings poems

This week we have been working really hard to plan, write and edit our own Anglo-Saxon Kennings poem. Children chose to write about characters from Arthur and the Golden Rope - either Fenrir the wolf, or Wind Weaver the bird! They also sketched portraits of the characters. Children worked hard to use joined up handwriting and brainstorm ambitious adjectives and verbs for their poem.
