Thursday October 2nd 2014: Poems, Prisms and Plays

We started the day with poems as it was National Poetry Day, and wrote some acrostic poems of our own about autumn. 

Afterwards we learnt about 3D shapes in maths and then made some cubes and prisms using straws and Sellotape:






Then we did some role play using scenes from excerpts we had read in class about Robin Of Loxley. The children acted out a variety of scenarios, taking the parts of Robin, Guy of Guisborne, the Sheriff of Nottingham, soldiers, judge and jury. First of all the children did mime and 'freeze frames' and then they added words to their acting:




 






Mrs Andrew, Mrs Grottick and Mr Porter acted out a scenario as well- unfortunately no photos of that though!
