Viking Bread - the Final Installment!

Today we made the last batch of Viking bread. This week we used all the usual ingredients but had blackberries instead of raspberries to put into our pasties. We talked about food hygiene and then we discussed what ingredients the Vikings would have used.


After baking the bread we wrote about the taste, texture and appearance of it. We talked a lot about yeast and what makes it work. We made the best bread so far today - it rose well and looked and smelled delicious. Everyone thought it tasted great!
