Salt Dough Decorations

After assembly with Canon Tony Billet we made Christmas decorations using salt dough.

Mrs Key used different websites she had found on Pinterest to find a range of designs.

The recipe for the dough is:

200g plain flour
100g salt
150mls luke warm water

Mix and shape!

The dough should be baked in an oven at 100C, 200F, gas mark 1/4 for 3-4 hours (although we baked them for an hour at 150C). Alternatively you can air dry the dough in a warm place for 1.5 days.

Top tips:
1. don't roll the dough too thinly
2. make sure you make a hole in the dough if you want to hang it on the tree with a ribbon
3. DONT EAT THE DOUGH AS IT TASTES HORRIBLE!

We will be decorating the shapes tomorrow. The dough can be painted and varnished and also embellished with glitter and other things.
