Today we were joined by Year 2 children who will be coming into Barn Owls class next year. Our Year 4 children moved up to Kestrels to experience a morning in their next class.
We explored estimating. The children worked together to estimate how many buttons were on the clothes of all the people in the class and then found out the actual number and compared the two. In some cases there was a very large difference in the estimated and actual totals - see below for an example.
This person estimated 110 buttons in the class when the actual total was 149. His group estimated 122 which was nearer the mark.
