In literacy with Mrs Key we have been doing some tasks and thinking carefully about the component parts so that we can explain how to complete them using instructions. The instructions we are looking at are both written and verbal.
One task involved a child giving verbal instructions to their partner. Had they completed the task successfully and got the right result?
Another task involved creating a night scene with oil pastels and watercolour using written instructions. It was interesting to see how the instructions were interpreted.
Instructions must be clear so that everyone understands what they mean and can carry out the task in the same way to get the same results!
